The Pre-purchased English Language Tuition (PELT) programme at the New Zealand School of Vocational Education and Training (NZSVET) is designed to help eligible new migrants improve their English language skills, supporting their integration into New Zealand’s communities and workforce.

As a TEC-approved training provider, NZSVET offers flexible English courses tailored to fit various schedules, ensuring that learners receive high-quality, accessible language training.

To be eligible to enrol in the PELT programme, you must be a migrant who has paid for English language tuition to Immigration New Zealand (INZ) prior to arriving in New Zealand. This includes:

  • Parents
  • Partners
  • Dependent children aged 16 and over

who do not meet the minimum English proficiency standards and have paid INZ for ESOL tuition before being granted residence.
